Meeting with Farhan Tahir

Hollywood, Shakespeare recitations, theater, entrepreneurship are just some of the themes that can summarize the very eventful and exciting event featuring Farhan Tahir - a Pakistani American Actor and Entrepreneur.



Farhan took us through his journey from childhood, being part of a talented family of seasoned artists to his growing passion for acting in a society where that field was and still is not the norm.  Farhan talked about his challenges in confronting his parents with what he believed to be his "true calling", overcoming those obstacles and eventually formally studying theater at one of the most prestigious academic institutions - Harvard University.  The final challenge for Farhan was finding an agent and diving into the tough and complex world of acting.



Farhan demonstrated a masterful ability to parallel his world with the business world and talked about the many similarities in the way he has to develop, market and brand his product on an ongoing basis, similar to any other business.

The difference being that his product is him as an actor.

Farhan talked about a number of projects he has been working on and a few new film releases as well as his special project focusing on children's comic books with a broad focus but one that Pakistani Americans will be able to relate to.



In addition to this, Farhan talked about his private life - kids, wife and a home in San Diego to get away from the "business".



At the end, Farhan treated us to a recitation from one of Shakespeare's plays which was very well done and then provided an opportunity for people to take pictures.



Overall a very interesting event satisfying many of our curiosities about Hollywood and the life of an actor and opening up our eyes to a different dimension to entrepreneurship, marketing and branding.
